The party themes include: Bring your favorite doll, Raggedy Ann, Fire Trucks and Cars, Teddy Bears, Farm Animals, Space, Under the Sea, Beachside Picnic, Southwest, Sports, Ballerina, Pirates, bridal showers, tea parties, etc.
I love to design art workshop parties around your child's favorite things, or their interests! We have door prizes and Pinata's full of goodies and art supplies! We will be offering several unique packages, and personally design an art party that is right for you and your children!

Friday Morning, September 5th, 2008 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in the comfortable and relaxing atmosphere of Rather Be Painting's Studio in Historic Five Points!
Have a nice cup of coffee, a pastry and paint a pre-sketched 5x7 canvas, "Morning Coffee" to take home and enjoy that same morning! This is a great way to ease into your weekend with some great conversation, coffee/pastry and a simple piece of artwork you will paint with Mellissa! Have you a desire to paint a picture lately? In one morning or evening, you can create a beautiful painting and at the same time, enjoy a memorable time with your friends, co-workers, and family! I am the Artist, Mellissa Meeks, and I am offering "Rather Be Painting" art workshops, to provide an opportunity for people to get together to laugh, learn, and let their creativity free and paint with her on pre-sketched canvases! I will guide you through painting and show you how to mix your paints, step-by-step...while you relax and have a memorable evening!
You will go home the same day with artwork you can be proud of! Also, you can schedule art workshops in your home for private gatherings. RBP provides all of the setup, pre-sketched canvases, and the art supplies and instruction! We have some wonderful adult and children's workshops scheduled at our new location in Historic Five Points, 508 Andrew Jackson Way, Huntsville, AL 35801.
We will be specializing in Mother's-to-be with "Heirloom art for nursery" where the new mom can create her very own nursey theme art party, and have her family and friends to paint the nursery with keepsake artwork to treasure a life time!
Also, Brides-to-be can have an "Treasured Keepsake artwork" for their new homes! Kitchen, bath, bedroom and living! Create your own art with your friends and family! Great way to cover the walls of your new home!

"Murals To Promote Community Awareness" Project is kicked off! I want to highlight the importance and significance these murals could make to foundations and non-profit organizations. I am getting the word out regarding these murals! If you are an artist that would like to donate some of your talent and time to paint at the stadium, and depict a foundation or non-profit organization at the same time, then, please contact me!
The article was featured in EnJoy! on Sunday, June 29th! We are excited about this project we are kicking off! We have formed a committee and will be scheduling a meeting in the next couple of weeks to review the incoming appliciations! And we have had several! Keep these coming! And the artists have been sending in their applications...alot of talent out there! We request interested artists to complete an application and provide a brief summary of their experience and samples of their artwork, preferably murals...and we also have an application process for the non-profit organizations. Our goal is to get the artists in place, and then, the organizations work with an individual artist to develop a draft sketch of their potential mural, this will be a part of the selection process and we will announce the organizations that will be on our first 11 walls of murals. We will be planning more wall space in the future, and will retain a waiting list. I have been contacted by several organizations and I am in the process of returning your phone calls. I thank you for your interest and look forward to hearing your mural ideas and about your wonderful organizations! More details will be announced soon!
